Spring is the time when family and friends come together during the Chinese Lunar Year with hopes that the year ahead will be filled with good health and fortunes.
Embodying the spirit of this tradition, flowering cherry blossoms heavily influences this year decorations at 1 Utama. Pink and red cherry blossoms rule at the 1 Utama Shopping Centre's Oval ground floor. This is hardly surprising as the mall's Chinese New Year theme is "Blooming Spring".
Dominating the stage area are five rotating red-gold symbolises growth and prosperity. The stage is also decorated with a 4.8m long greetings in Chinese calligraphy.
The stage is also adorned with shimmering Chinese bead curtains, which replicate the older days.
Five rotating red-globe surround the stage. Featuring a 3D outlook, the outer layer of the globe is a gold steel mesh decorated with cherry blossom motifs made from satin. Inside, intricate paper cuttings form a flower ball with gold rope coils fitted as the base.
The shopping concourse LG Oval features a beautifully crafted stage where cultural shows will take place throughout the Chinese New Year celebrations. To help customer with their lunar year 23 shopping kiosk have been set up around the areawith six more at other parts of the mall. These kiosk sell festive products such as cheongsams, accesories and cookies.
